  27. Well, it was a brand new modem, purchased a week before the serial port 
  28. died the first time. And then it was the ONLY device connected to the 
  29. computer between the first and second repairs. I suppose it could be a 
  30. coincidence, but I think the odds of that are slim.

  32. I'm in Manhattan where, despite our many other problems, line voltages 
  33. and phone lines are pretty good.

  35. To be fair, I've had few problems with several Supra 14.4s that I own. 
  36. But no way am I planning to plug this 28.8 back into my Powerbook.
